Illustration Friday - Night
Night falls......
Past the trees, beyond the horizon, the sun paints the sky a kaleidoscope of colors as it slowly falls away. A whisper of wind tickles your neck as purple shadows begin to surround you. The moon, just a sliver in the sky and flanked tonight by it's partner Venus, seems colder than usual. Suddenly, the silence is shattered by the sound of something stirring in the woods, surely just an old opossum or raccoon beginning his nightly rounds, and yet....... burr............ there’s that cold breeze on your neck again. Well, it’s getting late, there’s a chill in the air, so maybe it would be a good idea to go inside and watch the rest of the sunset from there. Oh, and don’t forget to lock the door behind you. Colored pencil on Stonehenge paper.

I really like how the light is caught at the back of the foliage! Blazing bushes! Another well drawn topic :)
Lovely, you've captured the feeling of night fall so well!
Trees, wind and the last sleepy call of birds...now for the hot chocolate!!
Peaceful and mysterious....I love the feel of this piece. It is beautifully drawn.
Very nice. Some of the toughest colors are those between the colorful horizon and the darker night blue above. Well chosen!
beautiful sky! nice transition from twilight to night light!
nice use of negative space
You captured it wonderfully!
Steve, this is so beautiful! The sky has so many gradations of nightfall colors, and the bushes in the forground have caught the last bit of the sun. I love this...so peaceful :>
