Illustration Friday - Roots
It's been awhile since I've contributed anything to Illustration Friday and since my latest drawing happened to be of some pansies I found lurking in the shadows of a garden, I figured why not post it? After all, they do have roots, now don't they! This is done with colored pencil on Stonehenge paper... I faded the edges with PhotoShop to blend into the page.

Pretty! Kind of reminds me of a Georgia 'O Keefe painting which isn't a bad thing in my book. :) I love purple too so of course I just have to love this painting.
Welcome back to IF! These pansies are gorgeous!! Really well done - great detail and luscious colors! SO glad you shared them with us!
I had no idea there WAS a wine country west of St. Louis! I hope you find more time to draw/paint. I like your ideas, colors and rendering.
Wow ... your violets just went WHAMM LOOK AT ME! Woke me up from the greyness of my day :)
Gasp! Such gorgeous, vibrant colors! This is such a treat to see as fall is aproaching. Your pencil work is masterful. So pretty...
