Illustration Friday - Daring
Okay - so to some this may not be "daring" but this is the first self-sketch I've ever done. I like doing sketches of people, mostly just pencil drawings for family and friends, but I've never done one of the person looking back in the mirror. Used CP which is still new to me and did not agonize with slow layering of color. Wanted to get my feet wet on Illustration Friday after a friend of mine got me interested.

great job, this is what IF is all about...whatever the theme means to YOU! :)
cheers,

thats a pretty good likeness from looking at you're photo!
Looks just like the photo. Very good self protrait.
Daring, indeed! It is no easy thing to do, to not only capture a likeness, but also personality and warmth in a portrait -- and it's even harder when that portrait is of your own face! I think that the element that makes self-portraiture even more "daring" as the theme this week suggests, is that when the artist looks in the mirror to do a self-portrait, to capture an accurate likeness, one must be honest with one's self -- if it's going to look anything like you, you have to commit your true image to paper, imperfections and all. That's really not an easy thing to do.
You, however, have done a wonderful job! Great portrait, excellent likeness (from what I can judge from your profile photo,) and very well done! :D
Nice work! I look forward to getting to know you through your blog. And see your artwork. Keep it up!
Well done...you are a very talented artist.
Keep up the good work.
Looks like your photo with added personality -- good job. I look forward to seeing future work and reading your blog.
